Victory Bell Trophy – Mizzou Tigers and University of Nebraska Cornhuskers Rivalry Football Game

Various followers of school basketball do not realize that the football rivalry game played involving the University of Missouri (Mizzou for short) Tigers and the College or university of Nebraska Cornhuskers for the Victory Bell trophy is the 2nd oldest competition within the top 12 Convention. The University of Missouri and the University of Kansas rivalry predates the Cornhuskers and Tigers competition by one full year and five days. In addition to being the 2nd oldest competition in their conference this is actually the third oldest rivalry west of Mississippi River even though most everyday football followers that are not from the area do not normally associate these two programs as rivals. nfl online stream

The Victory Bell is the name of the trophy awarded to the gross annual victor of this game. The theory for the bells trophy was declared by former University of Missouri athletic director Chester Machine in 1926. The Success Bell trophy is a traveling trophy which means that the winning program gets to keep the trophy until it is played for again in the subsequent game organised the following season. The scores from every game since 1926 have recently been engraved on the Triumph Bell. 

The first getting together with between these two programs that are 320 kilometers apart occurred way again on November 5, 1892. The game was played out in Omaha, Nebraska (the University of Nebraska is based in Lincoln, NE) and won by the Cornhuskers. For almost all of the exuberant students at the Columbia campus the October, 2003 game was the first win for the Tigers in this rivalry in their lives. Nearly five years later on October 4, 08 Mizzou would get it is first win in Lincoln subsequently, NE in 30 years.
